Meet Charlie, the 8-year-old
behind Finding Chess.
“What if chess had surprises?”
Charlie loved playing chess with her dad. But one day, she had an idea:
What if chess could be even more fun?
What if there were hidden gifts to discover along the way? What if you never knew what surprise might come next?
That little question sparked a big idea.
With Charlie’s imagination, a 3D printer, and a little help from her family, Finding Chess came to life.
A new way to experience the classic game - filled with strategy, discovery, and a whole lot more fun.

How to play
Four steps to a whole new chess adventure.
Finding Chess starts with classic chess, then adds Movement Cards and hidden Gift Pieces to make every game full of surprises.

Place the surprise gifts
Set up your chessboard normally, then place the 16 surprise gifts on the empty dark squares.

Draw and move
Draw a movement card and move the matching piece using standard chess movement.

Capture and reveal
Capture a gift when your piece lands on its square, then reveal the surprise inside.

MOVEMENT CARDS
No need to memorize how every chess piece moves before the fun begins.
Each turn starts by drawing a Movement Card. The card shows you which piece to move and how it moves, giving new players an easy visual guide right at the board.

Pawns move only one space on their first move.
No move means you skip your turn.
Standard chess capture rules still apply.
